This is our best-selling fragrance, and it has been for a year running. Coco Mademoiselle is the one people recognise from across a room without being able to name it.
The trick is the patchouli. Most rose fragrances go sweet or go soapy. This one puts a dark, earthy patchouli underneath the rose and refuses to let it turn into a candle. What you get instead is a rose that has some grit to it, opening on orange peel and finishing on vanilla and vetiver.
In oil form the patchouli comes forward sooner. There's no alcohol lifting the citrus off the top, so the orange is softer and the rose arrives faster. If you have worn the spray, expect the same fragrance sitting closer to your skin, and expect it to still be there at dinner.

An Oriental Floral is a floral heart built on a warm, resinous base rather than a clean one. That base is what separates this from every fresh rose scent on the shelf.
Here it is Turkish rose and jasmine sitting on patchouli, vanilla and tonka bean, with orange and bergamot on top to keep the opening bright. Sophisticated without being stuffy, and it works at nine in the morning and nine at night.
